This is what I hear from those who are new to this concept of buying a home. For me on a personal level it was a great way to pick out a nice home, and move in rather quickly. It was nice but there was one problem.......
Well when my job began to cut hours and I had to move out of an apartment because of that, I had to find a place to move ASAP. With the fact that I was late on my rent the last couple of months I knew it would be hard to get into another apartment. So there I was with my family and bad credit. What was I going to do? I am a Google fanatic, so I googled the question "rent with bad credit; ga" and a lease purchase company came up. They let you pick out the home, and they would help you with your credit as you rented from them. Well they did exactly what they said they would do...almost. A investor bought the home, and we had to wait almost two months for it to close before we moved in, but we did. In a home that "we" chose. It was exciting. Well months went by, we paid on time, and all was good... Until I asked about the credit services. I was ready to work towards good credit, I really had no plan, and was hoping for a plan and what was my first step. So I called, and they gave this woman's name and email. She contacted us and gave us an link to pull our own credit, and some letters to use. And that was it. I thought to myself, "WHAT" I knew it was my responsibility to do it, but I went to this place because I needed the help. Well needless to say my husband was injured 8 months later, and we were back at square one. Without the education, and without a safety net.
With every problem there is a solution...
This is where I had a light bulb moment.....At the time I was in mortgage and appraisal, just getting my feet wet in real estate. So I thought to myself, someone should actually take the time to end the cycle. In essence, that is what it is. There are lots of things we are taught in life, and credit ain't one of em. So I started researching, researching, and most of all networking! I started to put together a team that could be a education powerhouse. I found a credit specialist, a budget specialist, and so many more people. I told them about my vision, and how I wanted to change peoples lives as far as financial education. I know how scary it can be to lose everything and try to regain stableness at the same time. For most its extremely hard, for some impossible with out help.
This is where Homewise Solutions comes in. We are a team of seven (the magic number by the way) of my closest business friends came together to solve this problem. I often think of us as "the superfriends"- remember when superman, wonderwoman, aquaman, etc. all those characters came together. Well thats us. I know we are in a housing crisis but this is where you find your true heroes, and those who really care about you the home buyer.
